Lots of people feel intimidated by the technical stuff related to an online business, but you need not overwhelm yourself with a lot of bells and whistles.

You don’t need a big fancy website or lots of expensive software.

You can get started with simple software that makes it easy for you to look good. We will also share some amazing tools that will help you create your online course quickly and easily.

While there are some things you'll need to learn to get your online course up and running, we will be there every step of the way, showing you what to do and how to do it.

That being said, if you are so tech-challenged that you have trouble booting up and and using your computer or getting around online, you may have trouble implementing what you learn in this course.

But, if you're open to learning and growing, even that can be overcome.

There are 7 training modules, and it will take you about an hour to watch all the training videos for each module. 

You can expect to spend another 3-5 hours each week implementing what you're learning. 

If you do what we recommend and start with the Low Tech Test Launch (LTTL), you can bypass Modules 6 and 7.

This bypass will save you a lot of time, and you can go back to those modules when you do a more robust launch with your next online course. 

With the way the program is designed, you’ll have enough knowledge to get your first online course up and running in just a few weeks.

In terms of how much time you should set aside each week, on average it takes about an hour a day, which you could do daily, or all in one day, like a Saturday. 

If you are short on time, keep in mind the hours aren’t as important as the quality of the effort.

We will be answering these questions in weekly live Q&A calls. These are being held on Facebook Live, and will be recorded and available both in the FB group and in the member site.

You will also have a list of all of the questions that were answered on each Q&A call, so you can easily hop to the call that answers the questions you have.

We are holding 18 of these calls over the 12 weeks of the program.

In addition to these 18 Q&A Live sessions, we are holding 3 live Zoom Hot Seat calls, where we will go even deeper in answering questions that you have and helping you make a success plan. 

The 4th live zoom call is our OCCS Celebration Call, where all of the OCCS students share their journey – what they learned, what they accomplished, what their next steps are.

There are many ways to deliver an online course. In OCCS, we recommend that you start simple, small and low tech. 

If you choose to pre-record your course (not necessary, especially for a first course), one way to do this is to create a slideshow on PowerPoint or Keynote for example, and simply record the slideshow with you talking behind it.

This is a way to make a video, without you having to have your face on the video.

You may choose to deliver your first online course live instead of recording anything.

Our students often do this on Zoom, so they can connect with and communicate with and form relationships with their students, while delivering the course content. 

Some of our students show a slide show while on Zoom, which means that the amount they’re on camera is less. 

There are lots of ways to create an attractive backdrop for talking head videos. 

I actually moved my desk to my dining room, so the camera can be looking back at my living room, which is a much more pleasing video backdrop than it was when I had a window right behind me. 

So that’s one possibility. You simply find a place in your house that does look good to shoot a video in front of.

Another option that many people use is to create or buy some kind of backdrop.

I have seen curtains, accordion folding room dividers, and even backdrops that look like you’re sitting at a Paris bistro or in an office in a tall building in New York City.

These backdrops are set up on a frame that you put behind you. I’ve seen them for sale on Amazon.

And one more option is to use a digital backdrop.  These are available on Zoom or other places online.

Absolutely. The modules will be open one per week, except for the 4 Implementation Weeks (catch up or rest up). 

You can choose to do the module when it opens, or go at your own pace and do it when it’s most convenient for you.

Yes! From last year‘s OCCS there have been people who are just launching their first online course or their second online course in recent months.
